Lost Spirits一直在探索朗姆酒和威士忌的定义，他们建立了实验室。2010年酒厂探索从Sacramento三角洲附近的一个岛屿收获的泥煤，推出了Calafia威士忌，创造了与艾雷岛泥煤完全不同的体验。2014年取得了原酒熟成的技术突破，团队关闭了位于Monterey的酒厂，并搬到硅谷上方山丘的隐蔽位置。在山顶工程设施的隐居中，团队日夜工作以制造机器设备。团队的技术突破在规模生产上投入应用，广受好评的Colonial Inspired朗姆酒实际熟成只有6天时间，但检测化学成分显示的熟成时间为15-20年。
出于对客户和粉丝的喜爱和尊重，2016年Lost Spirits开始在洛杉矶市中心的艺术区建立一个新的生产区，体验位置拥有先进的技术和尖端的蒸馏技术。设计时考虑到了极客，它具有高度的个性，教育性和表现力。
现在，实验室团队设计了一个自动计算机系统来运行酒厂，从而腾出时间在实验室中进行新的创作。
